Industry-Academia Linkage Initiatives

At the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), our Industry-Academia Linkage Committee is dedicated to bridging the gap between academic research and industrial applications. As the Deputy Convener of the Industry-Academia Linkage Committee (2024-2025) and Executive Member of the Research Evaluation Committee at UET Peshawar’s Department of Mining Engineering, I work towards fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth in Pakistan’s mining and geological sectors.

Providing Opportunities for Students

We are committed to empowering the next generation of geologists, engineers, and researchers by:

Funding Students: Supporting university students with research grants to fuel innovative ideas.
Field Visits: Organizing practical field excursions to mining sites and geological landmarks across Pakistan to enhance real-world understanding.
Academic and Industrial Supervision: Mentoring students in academic research and industrial projects to build practical skills and bridge the gap between theory and application.

Producing Globally Competent Professionals

Our initiatives have enabled students to contribute significantly at both national and international levels. Many of our alumni are serving in prestigious research institutions, universities, and mining organizations worldwide.

We have established partnerships with leading universities in Pakistan and abroad, facilitating knowledge exchange, joint research projects, and access to global expertise. These collaborations drive advancements in mining technologies, mineral resource management, and artificial intelligence applications in the mining sector.

Driving Innovation Through AI in Mining

As part of the Research Evaluation Committee at UET Peshawar, I actively promote the application of Artificial Intelligence in mining operations. From optimizing mineral exploration to streamlining mining processes, AI is paving the way for more efficient, sustainable, and safe mining practices in Pakistan.
